What Are Solar Panels?
Solar panels are devices that convert sunlight into electricity, offering clean and renewable energy. Named after the sun, our most powerful source of light, solar panels provide an efficient way to harness solar energy for homes, creating a more sustainable future. For homeowners, solar panels not only reduce energy bills, but also increase property value
How Do They Work?
Solar panels convert sunlight into electricity, which can be used immediately or stored in batteries for use when the sun isnβt shining. This makes solar energy a reliable and sustainable way to power your home. Considering these upgrades can lead to significant savings and greater energy independence.
Benefits of Solar
Solar panels reduce energy bills and environmental impact. During the sunnier months, usually from April to September, they often generate excess electricity. This surplus can be stored or fed back into the grid, further lowering your bills and maximizing savings.
Reduced Monthly Bills
Solar energy systems require minimal maintenance, typically just occasional cleaning and periodic inspections. With no moving parts, repairs are rare, and most panels have a lifespan of 30+ years, ensuring long-term reliability and cost savings
Low Maintenance
Installing solar panels boosts your home's value and makes it more appealing to buyers. With lower energy bills and a smaller carbon footprint, solar-equipped homes tend to sell faster and at a higher price, making it a good long-term choice.
Increased Home Value
Installation Process
Sumbit Application
First, we need to complete an application form, which allows us to assess your property according to grant guidelines. An agent will then contact you to discuss potential upgrades and finalise your application.
Initial Survey
A certified technician will assess your current system and heating requirements, providing a detailed overview that often reveals potential energy savings of 15-20%.
Technical Survey
After the initial survey is complete and the mock EPC passes, your application is fully vetted. Weβll then arrange a final technical survey to confirm the specifics of the work. Following this, we'll provide an installation date.
Installation
Professional installation usually takes less than 72 hours following the technical assessment, with a seamless changeover that ensures no disruption to your home heating.
Extra Information
The efficiency of solar panels is a measure of the amount of sunlight that can be converted into usable electricity. Excess will be stored in batteries for personal consumption, or redistribution to grid, also included with grant.
On survey, this will be considered and covered to ensure long-term benefit to the address.
Efficiency & Capacity
Various government schemes support the transition to solar power through financial incentives, making home heating upgrades accessible.
Additionally, programs such as the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG), incentivise solar panel owners to contribute their surplus energy, Further boosting potential energy savings in the long-term.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
-
Panels will only be installed on sections that:
Face the sun (e.g., south, southeast, or southwest-facing roofs).
Are unshaded by trees or buildings.
Are structurally sound and large enough to accommodate the panels.
-
Currently, no! If they have a gas meter or have gas supply to the home they cannot get solar panels under the current ECO scheme. They can get Central heating
-
Yes! While panels generate less electricity in winter due to reduced sunlight, they still produce energy even on cloudy days π₯οΈ
-
Solar panels typically last 25-30 years and come with warranties to ensure long-term performance π‘οΈ
-
Yes! Excess electricity can be fed back into the grid or stored in a battery system for later use π.
